Medicare Made Simple

Medicare shouldn't be a mystery.

Original Medicare Parts A and B

Original Medicare (Part A & B)

Original Medicare is just Parts A and B — what the government gives to every eligible beneficiary. Part A covers inpatient hospitalization but comes with a $1,736 deductible. Part B covers doctors, surgeries, MRIs, and blood tests — pretty much every medical cost outside the hospital — with 80/20 coinsurance and no out-of-pocket max, meaning Medicare covers 80% and leaves you with 20%.

Original Medicare is the federal health coverage most people start with at 65 — Part A (hospital insurance) and Part B (medical insurance). Part A helps pay for inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing care, hospice, and some home health care, and most people pay no monthly premium for it. Part B covers the everyday side of healthcare: doctor visits, outpatient care, preventive screenings, lab work, and durable medical equipment, for a standard monthly premium. Together they let you see any doctor or hospital in the country that accepts Medicare — no networks, no referrals. What Original Medicare doesn't include is a yearly limit on what you can spend out of pocket, which is exactly why most people add a Medigap or Medicare Advantage plan. We'll help you find which path fits your health and budget, at no cost to you.

Medicare Advantage Part C

Medicare Advantage (Part C)

An all-in-one alternative to Original Medicare offered by private carriers. Plans often bundle hospital, medical, and prescription coverage, and many include extras like dental, vision, and hearing. We help you compare the options available in your area.

Medicare Advantage, also called Part C, is an all-in-one alternative to Original Medicare offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare. These plans work much like the group or ACA coverage you may have had through an employer: you typically choose a PPO or HMO, and the plan bundles your Part A, Part B, and usually Part D prescription coverage into a single card. Most include extra benefits Original Medicare doesn't — like dental, vision, hearing, and fitness — and many carry a $0 monthly premium. Every Advantage plan also caps your yearly out-of-pocket costs, giving you a ceiling on what you'd spend in a bad health year. We compare the plans available where you live so you can see the premiums, networks, and benefits side by side.

Medicare Supplement Medigap plans

Medicare Supplement (Medigap)

Works alongside Original Medicare and covers the costs it leaves behind — like your Part A deductible and your Part B coinsurance — so you're not stuck with that uncapped 20%.

A Medicare Supplement plan — also called Medigap — works alongside Original Medicare to pay the out-of-pocket costs it leaves behind, like the deductibles, copays, and the 20% coinsurance that otherwise has no limit. Medigap plans are standardized by letter (Plan G, Plan N, and others), which means a Plan G from one company covers exactly the same benefits as a Plan G from another — the only real difference is the monthly price. Because they ride on top of Original Medicare, you keep the freedom to see any doctor or hospital in the country that accepts Medicare, with no networks and no referrals. Most people pair a Medigap plan with a separate Part D drug plan. We shop every company we represent to find you the lowest rate for the exact same coverage.

Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage

Medicare Part D (Prescription Drugs)

Stand-alone prescription drug coverage that helps lower what you pay at the pharmacy. Every plan covers a different list of medications, so we check your specific prescriptions to find the plan that costs you the least.

Medicare Part D is prescription drug coverage that helps lower what you pay for the medications you pick up at the pharmacy. You can get it as a stand-alone plan that pairs with Original Medicare, or built into a Medicare Advantage plan. Every plan covers a different list of medications (called a formulary), so the right choice depends on the specific drugs you take — which is why we check your prescriptions against each plan before recommending one. Starting in 2026, your out-of-pocket spending on covered drugs is capped at $2,100 a year, and you can choose to spread those costs in even monthly payments instead of paying a large amount all at once. We'll make sure your medications are covered at the lowest total cost.
